One feed additive quote request carries the additive, grade or form, quantity per year, destination country and certification needed to independent suppliers, so you describe the specification once. AnimalFeedAdditives.net sells no product and takes no paid listing. The form works for any of the types of feed additives, from enzymes and amino acids to coccidiostats.
Every statement here is compiled from named primary sources; see the methodology.
Your specification
We pass requests on to independent suppliers and experts; nobody pays to be named on this site (see the editorial policy).
What Does the Feed Additive Quote Request Do?#
The feed additive quote request turns one specification into a request that reaches several independent suppliers, so you describe the additive, grade and volume once instead of repeating it in separate calls and emails.
The form publishes no price list, ranks or screens no supplier and names no company as a receiver.
An early, open question about what exists is a request for information; a request for quotation needs a defined grade, volume and destination. The form is one of the two feed additive quote and expert match tools on this site.
Which Fields Does the Quote Request Ask For?#
The quote request asks for five required fields (additive, grade or form, quantity per year, destination country and certification needed) plus optional details that make quotes comparable.
The five required fields#
Each required field changes the quote: grade and form drive price, destination decides the legal status needed, and certification decides who can answer.
| Field | What to enter | Why it changes the quote |
|---|---|---|
| Additive | substance or product class as named on the label or in the act | defines which suppliers can answer |
| Grade or form | grade, concentration and form (for example lysine sulphate, vitamin A beadlet in IU/g, thermostable phytase granulate in FTU/g) | grade and form drive price |
| Quantity per year | annual volume; per-order volume in the optional details | volume separates a request for quotation from a request for information |
| Destination country | country of delivery and use | decides the legal status needed (EU entry, GB register, US route) |
| Certification needed | FAMI-QS, GMP+ feed certification, feed additives in organic production, halal | limits the answer to suppliers who hold it; EU organic feed admits only listed additives |
Email is required; company is optional.
Optional details that make quotes comparable#
Optional details (legal status required, Incoterm, documents, origin preference and timeline) make quotes from different suppliers comparable line by line.
| Detail | Options | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Legal status required | EU identification number; US feed additive regulation route | a quote must cover a product legal at destination |
| Coating or thermostability | coated, thermostable, pelleting stability | survival in pelleting and premix |
| Species and inclusion | species, inclusion rate | context only; the form gives no dosing advice |
| Quantity per order and pack | 25 kg bags, big bags, IBC for liquids | pack size changes price and logistics |
| Incoterm | EXW, FCA, FOB, CIF, DAP, DDP | defines who pays freight, insurance and duty |
| Documents | certificate of analysis, technical data sheet, safety data sheet, stability data, certificate of origin, registration copy, holder letter of access | same evidence in every quote |
| Origin preference or exclusion | country preferred or excluded; see sourcing feed additives from China | anti-dumping exposure (lysine from China) |
| Timeline | spot, quarterly, annual | contract length changes price |
| Company type | feed mill, premixer, integrator, distributor, pet food or aquafeed maker | routes the request |
How Do I Prepare a Good Quote Request?#
A good quote request names the exact grade, the legal status the destination requires, the volume and delivery terms, and the certification and documents you will ask for at delivery.
Specify the additive, grade and form#
Name the grade, not only the substance, because grades are different products with different prices:
- L-lysine HCl and lysine sulphate
- DL-methionine 99 % and liquid methionine hydroxy analogue
- vitamin A beadlet (IU/g)
- thermostable phytase granulate (FTU/g)
- monensin granulate (active %)
Coating, thermostability and species complete the specification.
State the EU register entry or US status needed at destination#
State the legal status the destination requires: for the EU, the identification number of the entry, and for the US, the route under which the ingredient may be used.
For the EU, look the number up in the EU register of feed additives and in the authorising implementing regulation on EUR-Lex, which give the species, minimum and maximum content and printed expiry. A holder exists only for categories 4 and 5 and genetically modified additives (Regulation (EC) No 1831/2003); its seller is the holder or acts with a letter of access. Regulation (EC) No 183/2005, Article 23, limits imports to listed third countries and establishments.
For the US, the route is 21 CFR 573 (food additive), 21 CFR 582 or 584 (GRAS) or an animal food GRAS notice, an AAFCO-defined ingredient under GFI #293, or a new animal drug application with 21 CFR 558 and a 21 CFR 510.600 sponsor code. A US route never implies EU status, and the reverse; a Chinese or Indian domestic registration says nothing about either.
Give volume, packaging, Incoterm and timeline#
Give the quantity per year and per order with the pack size, because 25 kg bags, big bags and IBCs for liquids are quoted differently. Add the Incoterm and the delivery pattern (spot, quarterly or annual).
Name the certification and documents you need#
Name the certification and the documents in the request, so every quote covers the same evidence: a quality-scheme certificate, a certificate of analysis per batch, a technical and a safety data sheet, stability data and, where relevant, a certificate of origin and a registration copy or holder letter of access. EU organic feed admits only enzymes and microorganisms among zootechnical additives (Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/1165, Annex III Part B).
Read FAMI-QS status from the FAMI-QS database, not from a logo or PDF; a notice of 22 February 2023 warned of a fake certificate. A FAMI-QS certificate runs 3 years with annual surveillance and certifies a management system, not a product, so ask what FAMI-QS certification covers. GMP+ TS1.2 section 3.3 accepts FAMI-QS for purchased additives listed in that database.
What Happens After a Quote Request Is Sent?#
After you send the request, it goes to independent suppliers of the additive you named, and any quote comes from the supplier directly; no response time or number of quotes is promised. Run three checks before you buy:
- Check legal status at destination in the register and the act.
- Check the quality system in the FAMI-QS or GMP+ database. In the US, a receiving facility runs a supply-chain programme under 21 CFR 507.105 to 507.175, and an importer reevaluates each foreign supplier at least every 3 years under 21 CFR 1.505(c); the FDA does not certify suppliers.
- Check the batch: a certificate of analysis proves the batch, not legal status.
Quote factors vary by class, such as concentration and form for vitamins or active percentage and carrier for coccidiostats. No price is published here. Dated signals are factors only: Evonik announced a net increase of up to 5-8 % for DL-methionine 99 % on 7 May 2025, and lysine from China carries an anti-dumping duty of 47.7 %, 53.1 % or 58.2 % of the CIF price under Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1330 (OJ 11 July 2025), with imports registered from 30 July 2026 for 7 months under Implementing Regulation (EU) 2026/1824.
Privacy: Who Receives Request Data and How Long It Is Kept#
A quote request goes only to independent suppliers of the additive you name, and the data is kept for 24 months. The request is stored with its source page and time. The privacy policy lists every form and what it stores.
The site uses no analytics service and no advertising vendor. Write to editorial@animalfeedadditives.net for earlier deletion.
When an Expert, Not a Supplier, Is the Right Contact#
An expert, not a supplier, is the right contact when the question is a registration, a dossier or a formulation rather than a price for a defined grade (an EU dossier, a US petition or GRAS notice, a third-country registration). A supplier quote is not regulatory advice.
Feed materials, compound feed, raw mineral commodities, equipment, veterinary medicines outside feed and consumer purchases get no quote route. For a regulatory or formulation question, ask a feed additive regulatory or formulation expert instead.
Can I buy feed additives online through this site?#
No: AnimalFeedAdditives.net sells no feed additive and runs no shop; the quote request passes your specification to independent suppliers, and you buy from the supplier you choose.
Does a quote request cover wholesale volumes?#
Yes: the form asks for quantity per year and per order, and quotes are scoped for trade pack sizes such as 25 kg bags, big bags and IBCs for liquids.
